Concurrent has developed the world’s first resilient real time ingest platform to enable time-shifted television.
Using Concurrent’s Real Time Pitcher 2000 (RTP) and Real Time Catcher 2000 (RTC), operators can build a real time content distribution solution that can support uninterrupted service in the event of a component, network link, disk, disk array or file system issue. Using commercial off-the-shelf hardware, Concurrent’s Real Time Media can support up to 100* real time standard definition programs simultaneously. Live broadcast video is transmitted from the RTP-2000 to the RTC-2000 with less than a five-second delay from the original broadcast. The RTC-2000 then ingests the live broadcast video to the MediaHawk VX server complex in less than five seconds. Both the RTP-2000 and the RTC-2000 are compatible with real time ingest applications such as Time Warner’s Start-Over application and Tandberg’s OpenStream/X-Port architecture.
